Why mental health is important?

Mental health is important and it is more than the absence of mental disorders. But why is mental health so important?

In fact, it is a state of well-being that allows us to form and maintain relationships with others, to learn, to work, to have fun and to enjoy life. In fact, it allows us to lead fulfilling lives. It is therefore just as important as physical health. Indeed, there is no health if mental health is not there.


Mental health is state of equilibrium

Mental health is important because it’s about balancing various aspects of your life. These aspects are as follows:

Several factors can influence your mental health. These factors are:

-Biological factors, for example, inheritance (what you inherited from your parents and ancestors);

-Personal factors, for example, childhood experiences, lifestyle habits and self-esteem;

-The physical environment, for example, the quality of your neighborhood or where you live;

-The social environment, for example, the quality of the relationships established with the people around you, the emotional and concrete support from them;

-The economic environment, for example, your living conditions and your economic conditions.

As you can see, it is impossible for you to change some of these factors. This is the case, for example, with your inheritance or the economic condition of your family. However, you can take action on many of them, including making good choices and adopting good lifestyle habits. So, you are ready to take charge of your sanity.



Clearly mental health is important: So, I take it seriously!

Taking care of your physical health is simple and concrete: you eat a balanced diet, you exercise every day, you have good sleep habits and presto, the business is ketchup. Mental health is important but more abstract. So, what are you doing to take care of it?

Here are some ideas for taking care of your mental wellbeing on a daily basis:

Adopt good lifestyle habits

Eat healthy foods. Eating a healthy diet will increase your energy level, improve your mood and improve your well-being.

Get enough sleep - 7 to 11 hours a day. Sleep isn't just good for your body, it's also good for your brain. If you sleep well, you will feel full of energy, it will be easier to concentrate.

Exercise Every Day: Getting active will help you get better sleep and help reduce stress and improve your mood. It is recommended that you get about 60 minutes of physical activity per day.

Reduce or stop your consumption of psychotropic drugs (alcohol, drugs, cigarettes). You may feel that alcohol or drugs are helping you through some more difficult times, you may feel that to be true, in the short term. However, in the long term, your consumption will have a negative impact on your mental health and well-being.



Take care of your social network
